The proposal to adopt a new form of apprenticeship – called Industry Recognized Apprenticeship Program (IRAPs) – is the first step in a short process that can devastate the value of your 3-year apprenticeship program. Act now to make your opinion known (deadline for comment: August 26th). Oppose the proposed rule that will allow IRAPs. Make clear that your union, in cooperation with signatory employers, have excellent existing apprenticeship programs.
