PDC 30 is excited to announce the award recipients of our 2026 Grant Cycle.

On Sunday, September 13th, in conjunction with PDC 30's PATCH Run with the Lion 5K event, we awarded the 2026 PATCH Foundation Grant to Suicide Prevention Services of America (Batavia). The organization works to reduce the number of suicides and stigmas surrounding mental health in our local communities through education, prevention, intervention, and postvention programming. The $20,000 grant funding will enable SPSA to offer presentations to students grades 3-12 in Kane, Kendall, and DeKalb counties at no charge to the school districts. This shift in fee structure will increase outreach and reduce access barriers, allowing the organization to reach more children who are in need. We are excited to support their important work.

And earlier this month, PDC 30 partnered with The PATCH Foundation to also present $10,000 to Project Fire Buddies and Next Generation Playground. Project Fire Buddies partners with local fire departments to build meaningful, long-term relationships and provide consistent support for critically ill children and their families. Next Generation Playground works to create inclusive, sensory-friendly spaces and enrichment programs to help neurodiverse children thrive, while also providing education and support to families and caregivers. Both organizations were identified as finalists for the 2026 PATCH Foundation grant this summer. Our review committee was so moved by the work of each organization that we sought additional PATCH funding this year to support their efforts.

Community Partnership Grants were awarded to Fox Valley United Way (Aurora), Well Child Center (Elgin), and YouthBuild McLean County (Bloomington). Our organization will complete renovation projects for each award recipient throughout the remainder of the year. All renovation work will be performed by our union members - these highly trained professionals take pride in their work and continuously seek opportunities to volunteer their skills, showcase their craft, and give back.

Thank you to all of the organizations that applied for a grant during our 2026 grant cycle. We were honored to learn about the impactful work of so many nonprofit organizations throughout our area, and we are grateful to be able to support our communities through grant opportunities each year.
